COVID at the UN: Making Connections, One Topic

One way is to take the COVID approach. The acronym stands for “Connecting Organizations, Values and Ideas with Innovative Development” and seeks to use one topic in order to make many points about how we can all work together towards sustainability. In this blog post, we will discuss what COVID is, some of its recent projects and how you can get involved in coming up with new ideas too!
What does COVID stand for? Connecting Organizations, Values and Ideas with Innovative Development
How do you become a responsible global citizen? By being involved in COVID. The acronym stands for “Connecting Organizations, Values and Ideas with Innovative Development” and seeks to use one topic in order to make many points about how we can all work together towards sustainability.
The acronym stands for “Connecting Organizations, Values and Ideas with Innovative Development” and seeks to use one topic in order to make many points about how we can all work together towards sustainability. This is done by asking the question: what should we do as global citizens when it comes to the topics of water, health and energy?
You can learn more about each of these topics below. The videos provide a good general idea of what COVID is all about:
The world in numbers: COVID’s contribution to global statistics in numbers

Water: The COVID video introducing the water topic
In order to further explain the COVID method and its involvement in these three topics, we present you with two videos. One is dedicated to the water topic and tells how it wants to help achieve Sustainable Development
The second video is dedicated to energy. It explains why COVID believes that Sustainable Development Goal 7 – which is to “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all” – will only be achieved by involving everyone from different backgrounds and persuasions. Watch the video below:
The last topic COVID wants to address is health. It hopes to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3 – which is to “Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages”. You can watch the video below:
What does COVID hope to accomplish? Involving everyone from different backgrounds and persuasions
As you can see from the videos, COVID has great plans for the future: it wants to work towards a more sustainable society that involves everyone – not just certain groups. How does it plan to achieve this? One step is to get people involved in creating their own advocacy campaign. That way, they will be participating instead of just being a bystander. For example, you could think of a catchy slogan that could change the way we look at a certain topic – or come up with clever visual designs that get people thinking about how to make our world more sustainable.
With this in mind, COVID wants people from all backgrounds and persuasions to help create their own advocacy campaign. In doing so, they will be creating their own individual part of a bigger plan that involves everyone.
How do I get involved? By sharing the COVID message
