We believe that we can waste our lives to lose them. We have a good chance’ – Brentford coach Thomas Frank said before the match. However, he may not have imagined the way his team hosted Manchester United. United have lost their team, the ‘bees’ have scored 4 goals in their net.

Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his desire to leave United at the beginning of last month. United showed yesterday a proof of why the Portuguese star wants to leave the team. Why would the five-time Ballon d’Or winner play for a club that played such sloppy football in the first half against ‘wee’ Brentford, who finished close to the relegation zone last season?

United’s nightmare at London’s GTech Community Stadium began 10 minutes into the match. Josh Dasilva’s goal took the lead for the hosts. Of course Ronaldo himself is to blame for this, but goalkeeper David de Gea is more to blame. The ball was lost to Mathias Janssen from the throw-in, who then squared it to Dasilva in the middle. His shot melts through the gap of De Gea’s hand and into the net.

Eight minutes later, Christian Eriksen lost the ball to Jansen Another goal comes from that

United extended their lead on the half-hour mark, Evan Toney having plenty of space to head home from a corner. With United’s non-existent defense guarding him, Tony took advantage. Ben Mir’s header curled the ball into the net after touching his head. The hosts took a 3-0 lead in the 30th minute.

For the next five minutes, United tried to come back, keeping possession of the ball. However, in the 35th minute, United’s attempts at every attack were crushed by Brentford. Ivan Toni came into the attack with possession of the ball, from his pass Brian Mbuemo put the ball into the net to fill the ‘hole’ of the goal. United’s match was, however, ‘over’ before that. Ronaldo did not score in the first half.

From the start of the second half, it looked like United were just waiting for the final whistle. The wait is over for a while, but the shyness of four goals has not diminished the team.
